The Setting

A universe on the edge of collapse.

Silver Linings is set in a far-future cluster of colonized systems where faster-than-light travel has gone dark. Colonies are cut off. Resources are running out. And something in the void between stars has started hunting pilots.

It's a game about survival, loyalty, and the choices you make when there's no good option left. Built on a cinematic RPG system designed for fast, dramatic play — every session feels like an episode of something you can't stop watching.

What Makes It Different

Built for the table. Designed for drama.

Cinematic Resolution

Fast, dramatic dice mechanics that reward bold choices. No death by a thousand modifiers — just clean, tense moments that land.

Deep Mech Customization

40+ frames, hundreds of loadout options. Your mech is an extension of your character — build it to match how you play.

Sector-Scale Exploration

Three fully mapped sectors with their own factions, hazards, and secrets. Every hex has a story if you look hard enough.

Crew Dynamics

Relationships between pilots matter mechanically. Trust, tension, and history between characters shape what's possible at the table.

Survival Stakes

Resources are finite. Repairs cost time. Decisions have weight. Silver Linings doesn't let you forget that the void is unforgiving.

Standalone Missions

Every adventure works as a one-shot or as part of a larger campaign arc. Drop in anywhere — the system handles the rest.

The Lore

The Silence Between Stars

"

We called it the Silver Lining — that thin band of light at the edge of the dark. We thought it meant hope. We were wrong about what was waiting there.

— Pilot's Log, Sector 7, Year 312 Post-Collapse

Three hundred years ago, the FTL network collapsed without warning. Every gate went dark in the same hour. The colonies that survived did so by adapting — stripping down their tech, learning to live in the silence, and building mechs from whatever they could salvage.

The pilots who navigate between systems are part courier, part soldier, part explorer. They carry messages, run supplies, and occasionally discover things in the void that were better left undiscovered. The pay is good. The life expectancy is not.

Silver Linings is a game about those pilots. About the choices they make in the dark, the crews they build, and the things they find in the silence between stars. It's not a hopeful setting. But it's a human one.
